Workflow

A range of visual services for science, medicine, and design, from detailed illustrations and 3D rendering to animation and brand identity. Whether you're looking to explain a complex concept, elevate your publication, or build a unique visual identity, each project is tailored to fit your goals.

1. Initial Meeting

Every collaboration starts with an initial meeting to discuss the project’s parameters. Ryan will review client-provided materials (e.g., manuscripts, branding guidelines) and establish timelines for drafts and final deliverables.

2. Sketching Phase and Design Phase

Ryan will consult the materials provided by the client. From these he will create exploratory sketches in pencil and Adobe Photoshop to understand the subject matter and explore design ideas. Client feedback will be solicited during regularly scheduled meetings.

3. Final Sketch

After a draft concept is created, the final sketch is designed including values, refining composition, and layout. Continued collaboration with the client will ensure key elements are represented and that the design aligns with stated goals.

4. Final Image and Delivery

Ryan will add color, texture, and detail using traditional and digital techniques. Traditional techniques include water-based media and pencil. Digital techniques range from digital painting in Adobe Photoshop, to vector-based illustration in Adobe Illustrator, to 3D rendering in Cinema 4D and Blender. The client will then review the finished illustration, and once approved, the final digital files will be delivered.
